Federal Judge Federico De Giorgio has ordered the freezing of assets, bank accounts, and financial assets of Hayden Davis, creator of the cryptocurrency $Libra, and two operators identified as Favio Camilo RodrÃguez Blanco and Orlando Rodolfo Mellino. This measure is part of an investigation into alleged financial schemes related to the digital asset.
The order is based on information gathered by the Investigative Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, which, over the past few months, has worked to reconstruct transfers and operations in the country and abroad related to the $Libra circuit.
According to reports, RodrÃguez Blanco, a Colombian citizen, operated a cryptocurrency asset platform in Buenos Aires used to channel funds abroad, while Mellino is listed as having movements of over five million dollars in the last year.
The $Libra case came to public light at the beginning of 2025, when it was revealed that Davis, a technology developer based between the United States and Uruguay, promoted a cryptocurrency that offered high returns and was subsequently the subject of complaints for alleged fraud.
The parliamentary investigation is also looking into possible links between the financial scheme and political donations to the libertarian party's campaign.
